Baby Kasian, Sitter Photo Session

One of the most exciting things for me as a photographer is to walk alongside families and their babies. I was blessed enough to be at Kasian’s birth and was so happy to have his parents call me to schedule a milestone session. I couldn’t wait for them to come to my new studio!

We wanted to have a few different set-ups to show how cute he is and also to add some items that his parents brought in. His daddy is a veteran so we added his uniform into some shots, Kasian was curious!

The outfit above was from my client closet, I have some outfits available for parents to choose from. I was shocked when Kasian barely fit into the outfit because it is a size 2T! I chatted with Kasian’s mom before the shoot but I didn’t believe her when she told me that at 6 months he was fitting into 24 month + clothes. I couldn’t help but giggle that we lucked out by being able to find something that fit him.

His parents also brought in a cute outfit with blue jeans, white shirt, and suspenders and we planned the set-ups according to which backdrops would flow with his outfit. His mom mentioned that she wanted more neutrals and because I love simplicity here are some photos we ended up with.

I like simpler set-ups because I feel like the children need to be the main focus. Sticking to timeless, vintage props prevents them from becoming outdated with time.

We also switched it up with another floor and backdrop that I have in my studio. I love the fine art look!

I love lighting and shadows that give great depth of field. Check out those cute feet!

During Classic and Premium sessions parents are welcome to take a few photos with their kiddos! We took some images with studio lighting and then moved over to my back door with curtains. I love the curtains for beautifully back-lit photos :)

Kasian Is a rainbow baby, if you are not familiar with the term, It is a term used for children born after a loss. The rainbow after a storm. His parents are very much missing Kaley and wanted her memory captured during this session. I love this family and felt blessed to be able to feature her presence in these images

For this part of the shoot we sat Kasian down on my studio bed by the back door. I wanted playful image with his angel sisters bear. I felt like the natural light was a perfect way to capture what may have been.
